Influences from Albany’s Downtown Public Library, a Carnegie classic built in 1911, can be seen throughout the elevations of this store. The use of light colored brick, strong horizontal lines and decorative pilasters help make the connection to the city’s past while also creating a dynamic, modern place to shop. The freestanding masonry colonnade and canopy provides shade and rain protection while also drawing patrons to the main entry.
